About Claire Chosid
I consider myself a passionate, energetic and outgoing individual. My life revolves around my family, home, friends, volunteering, and of course, gardening.
From the time I was a teenager, I loved to garden. When my kids were young, I had one running around, playing outside and one in a stroller with me in the flower beds. As they grew, I volunteered at their school, Mason Ridge in Town & Country, in the parent-managed science lab or the greenhouse, the outdoor classroom or the school grounds.
I met so many of my good friends this way, and we still, to this day, garden together. But now, it’s on the grounds of Longview Farm Park in Town & Country.
I am the president and founder of Mason Ridge Garden Club. For the past eight years, we have maintained and enhanced the gardens around Longview Farm Park. I also am proud that this October I designed the Tappmeyer House landscape in Creve Coeur’s Millennium Park.
Personally, in the past 13 years, I have endured a multitude of medical issues: Breast cancer (twice), Lupus, congestive heart failure, two knee replacements, Celiac disease and a wacky thyroid.
But my passions pulled me through in times of despair. I always visualized a day when I’d be outside, with friends, feeling well and digging in the dirt. I might not be as fast or limber as I was, but, the brain still allows me the opportunity to learn and grow.
