Photosynthesis – It’s not just about plants

Plants make their own food via a process called photosynthesis. Powered by the sun and using carbon dioxide out of the air and water, plants synthesize everything they need. But far beyond that, photosynthesis underlies nearly all life on earth. Chris Kirmaier

Chris has been a Master Gardener since 2007. She served on the Master Gardener Advisory Board 2011-2014 and was Chair 2013-2014.
Chris has taught the class on Plant Growth and Development in the St. Louis MG Training Program since 2012 . She also has taught the class on Botany and Plant Growth in the Franklin County MG training program since 2009. She is a speaker in the Master Gardener Speakers Bureau.
Chris is also a Habitat Consultant in St. Louis Audubon’s ‘Bring Conservation Home’ program, which works with and helps homeowners, businesses and other organizations to plan and establish sustainable landscapes using Missouri native plants.
