About Jeanne Ortega
I grew up on a small family farm (a half-section) in Southeastern Nebraska. I retired from the University of Missouri-St. Louis after a career in social sciences research and qualitative data analysis. I’ve expanded on my master gardener training by developing an interest in Missouri native plants, weed identification and yard management that promotes safe habitat for wildlife and soil health. I support organizations that are active in prairie restoration and preservation of endangered species.
